Players and officials paid tribute to the former Hanwha Eagles pitcher before the start of the Korea Baseball Organization awards ceremony. According to Hanwha Eagles news reports, Kim Sung-hun died after falling off the top of a nine-story building to a seventh-floor balcony in Gwangju.
