Texas Rangers‘ South Korean veteran Choo Shin-soo has homered in his second straight baseball game.

Choo launched his fifth home run of the season off Jake Faria of the Tampa Bay Rays in the top of the third inning at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Wednesday (local time). Batting leadoff and playing right field, Choo went 1-for-3 with an RBI. His batting average rose slightly from .219 to .224.

He’d homered in Tuesday’s game, too, ending a 10-game drought. Choo also drew an intentional walk, his first since July against these same Rays.

Choo’s solo blast put the Rangers up 1-0, but they couldn’t hold on to the lead and ended up losing 4-2.

Choo, who has split time as designated hitter and outfielder, homered in three consecutive games April 4-6, and was batting .325 through April 8. He then got into a 2-for-31 tailspin that saw his batting average drop to .211 by Monday.
