Good news for KBO baseball fans as South Korea is finally easing their social distancing rules from the COVID-19 pandemic. According to baseball betting news, this translates into KBO Game Crowd Capacity Increasing starting on July 1.
According to the announcement by the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), the new social distancing guidelines will take effect on Thursday. However, the increase in fan capacity in stadiums will vary depending on their location.
KBO Game Crowd Capacity Increasing on July 1
On Monday, the KBO went into details about their new guidelines to increase KBO game crowd capacity starting July 1. While some baseball clubs may have greater crowd capacity than others, it is still a win for all KBO teams. This is because having a larger crowd at games helps to boost player moral and does influence their playing. According to sports betting odds websites, the home advantage is not just about playing in a familiar environment. It is also about the support a team gets from their fans.
Stadiums in the greater Seoul area is still under Level 2 Social Distancing measures. Therefore, teams and stadiums in that area can only have up a 50 percent stadium capacity. Thus, this will affect the Doosan Bears, the LG Twins, the SSG Landers and the KT Wiz in Suwon.
The rest of the KBO baseball teams that are outside of the greater Seoul area will enjoy a 70 percent stadium capacity. However, the Samsung Lions may or may not have the same capacity. This is because their home city, Daegu, will announce their own social distancing rules which may affect stadium capacity.
At the moment, the KBO season is almost halfway done. However, Team owners are hoping to recoup lost revenues from fan attendance for the rest of the season.
