Korean football fans can now mark their calendar as the second friendly match in March has been set.  However, according to sports betting websites this matchup will be a nice surprise to some. This is because Korean Football Team will be Hosting Uruguay in March for their second friendly match.

Last month and early this month, there was a lot of speculation as to which team Korea would play. Last month, a reporter for Uruguayan television network Teledoce, first made the announcement about Korea playing Uruguay in March. During the announcement, he said that Uruguay would be facing South Korea and Japan for March’s friendly matches.

However, the  Korean Football Association did not acknowledge the friendly match against Uruguay until today. Some football betting insiders believe it was because they did not have a head coach to replace Coach Paulo Bento. As the date gets closer, the Korean football National Team is hoping to find a new head coach by then.

Korean Football Team will be Hosting Uruguay in March to Renew their Rivalry

Korean Football Team will be Hosting Uruguay in March to Renew their RivalryThe matchup between Korea and Uruguay will take place on March 28 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Seoul. An actual kickoff time for the game will be made available later this month. This will be Korea’s first time facing Uruguay since the World Cup game that ended in a 0-0 draw. For many football fans, this matchup will renew their rivalry and are expecting an exciting matchup.

The match between them will take place 4 days after the Taegeuk Warriors host Colombia in Ulsan.

Son Heung-min, Kim Min-jae and Oh Hyeon-gyu fans may be in for a treat for the March friendlies. This is because the match will take place during the FIFA international break. Therefore, Korean football players playing overseas will be available to play.

On the other hand, Uruguay remains under the leadership of head coach Diego Alonso. Football analysts believe that he will probably bring their World Cup team to play in Korea. Therefore, expect to see Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez, and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

After 9 times playing Uruguay, Korea only has 1 win, 2 draws and 6 losses. Thus, they are hoping a new coach will change that record and bring them a second victory. Furthermore, this match will also serve as a preparatory game for Korea, before going to the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
