The last time we saw the South Korean Men’s Olympic Team in training was in November of last year. This is because they were training ahead of a friendly tournament with Egypt and Brazil. Today, the Korean Men Olympic Football Team is Back in Training for the first day of camp for 2021.
According to the latest football news, the under 23 national team is training at the Gangneung Sports Complex. In addition, they are training ahead of three exhibition games against other pro clubs to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics.
Korean Men Olympic Football Team Schedule and Roster
This training session for the South Korean Olympic Football team is important because they are badly in need of practice. This is because during their last friendly tournament in Cairo, football betting fans were not happy with the results. Their first game against Cairo was a scoreless draw and they lost to Brazil 3-1. Thus, in order to have a chance at winning an Olympic medal, they will have to work on their teamwork.
Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for the Korean Men Olympic Football team to train. Therefore, this training schedule is a perfect opportunity for them. However, the sports betting odds for the Korean team to win are not in their favor.
Currently, the camp roster contains the 2020 Young Player of the year winners from the K-League 1 and 2. Furthermore, Song Min-kyu of the Phang Steels and Lee Dong-ryul of Jeju United are both in attendance. At the moment, 26 players will be training until February second. However, by the time the Olympic comes around, there will only be 18 players on the roster.
Coach Kim said he will be calling up a handful of players that are currently in Europe for the team. Therefore, this will also take more spots on the South Korean Men’s Football Olympic team.
Their first exhibition match will take place on January 26 against Seongnam FC. Afterwards, they will play against Suwon FC on January 30 and against Daejon Hana Citizen on February second.
