On Friday, the Celltrion Queens Masters will begin at Seolhaeone country club in Yangyang, Gangwon, with Park Min-ji hoping to win for a record third time in a row. Park Min-ji, the tournament’s all-time leader and the KLPGA Tour’s all-time leader with 16 victories each, won for the second year in a row in a dominating fashion last year.
According to betting odds experts, this 54-hole stroke-play event may provide the 24-year-old with her first chance to win a tournament this year.
At the Celltrion Queens Masters, Park Min-ji
Despite winning six events last year on the KLPGA, Park Min-ji has not yet won this year. Those who have won more than once before (Lee Jung-min, Lee Ye-won, Lee Joo-mi, Choi Eun-woo, Lee Da-yeon, Park Bo-kyeom, and Im Jin-hee) will be vying to be the first to do so this season. Bang Shin-sil also joins the field in fine form after taking home her maiden professional tournament trophy on May 28 at the E1 Charity Open. That accomplishment earned her membership on the KLPGA Tour.
At 6:50 a.m., the group of Lee Seung-yeon, Kim Jae-hee, and Chung Si-woo will begin play. Bang will begin at 12:15 p.m. with Lee Joo-mi and Lee Ye-won, while Park Min-ji will begin at 8:25 a.m. with Park Ji-young and Park Hyun-kyung.
