The Asian Volleyball Championship begins on Wednesday. Also, the Korean Women’s Volleyball Team will try to bounce back after losing twelve games in a row during the Volleyball Nations League.
Since its inception in 1975, the Asian Championship has grown to include competition from 14 countries every two years.
However, Women National Volleyball Team betting fans had to wait four years for the Asian Volleyball Championship. The pandemic led to the cancellation of the tournament in 2021.
Korea Joins Asian Volleyball Championship
According to betting odds experts, Group C of the competition included Korea, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan. Korea will have an opportunity to showcase what they have learned from their 12 losses in a row in the VNL by competing in this tournament.
Head coach Cesar Hernandez made certain adjustments when moving up to the MLS from the VNL, mainly in the attacking third. According to online sports betting reports, outside hitters, Kang So-hwi, Park Jeong-ah, and Pyo Seung-ju are among the newcomers. They join opposite hitter Lee Seon-woo and outside hitters Kwon Min-ji and Lee Han-bi.
The top three scorers for Korea in the VNL, Kang, Jeong Ji-yun, and Kim Da-eun, combined for only 240 points, much below the 298 scored by Poland’s Stysiak Magdalena. Kim Da-eu and Jeong suffered injuries and were left off the team’s roster.
In addition to Moon Jung-won, another fresh face is libero Kim Yeon-gyeon. Hernandez has brought back KIXX setter Kim Ji-won and Suwon Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate’s Kim Da-in.
Park Eun-jin, Lee Ju-ah, Jung Ho-young, and Lee Da-hyeon are the only middle blockers on the roster.
