The South Korean baseball team SSG Landers are hungry for a KBO Championship title. Therefore, they have been making several additions to their roster with foreign players and staff. A few days ago, former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher became part of the team. Today, Scott Fletcher Joins the SSG Landers Coaching Staff as their new hitting and fielding coordinator.
According to baseball betting websites, Scott Fletcher is a former MLB shortstop and second base player. Furthermore, after retiring as a professional baseball player in 1995, he began coaching baseball for minor and major teams. Some of these teams include the Charleston Riverdogs, the Colorado Rockies and the Atlanta Braves.
Scott Fletcher Joins SSG Landers Coaching Staff as a Hitting Coach
At the moment, the SSG Landers lead the KBO with a 29-21-0 record. Formerly known as the SK Wyverns, they have not won a Korean Series Championship since 2018. Therefore, SSG Landers betting fans and staff are eager to win another one.
According the SSG Landers, Scott Fletcher is joining the team to work with their hitting and fielding coaches. However, the financial details of the deal have not been made available to the public. Coach Fletcher will be arriving to South Korea on Wednesday and report to the team after his mandatory 14-day quarantine.
Despite ranking no 1 in the KBO, their offense is only average in comparison to other KBO teams. This is because according to sports betting odds, they only rank 7 in offense with a .259 team batting average. Furthermore, they rank 6 in runs, seventh for hits and last place for batting average with runners in scoring position. Last but not least, they also have the most errors in the KBO with 46 errors.
However, with the help of Fletcher, the SGG Landers are hoping to improve their offensive power. If all goes well and Fletcher can deliver, they hope to remain the top team in the KBO.
